What is this site?
At some point in college, I was required to create a blog. I was a part of a creative writing class that asked it of me. I thoroughly loved creative writing, but the idea of creating a blog was uncomfortable - to put my thoughts out into public was such a bare and widespread display. It still makes me uncomfortable, and perhaps for that reason, I have not taken it down. There's something to doing things that abrade the more negative characteristics, like fear and self-consciousness, that stretches me.
For long periods of time, I forget that I have a blog. I remember when I apply to jobs or when someone mentions that they saw me on LinkedIn. I wonder how much more digging they did. I fight a feeling of embarrassment as I consider that they may have read my poetry, that they might have more insight into my person than the clean professional bubble I curate. Let it be that way.

Here's how I introduced this whole thing back when I first created it:
I write quite a bit. 50 years ago, people writing as much as myself would find themselves doing one of three things: 1) throwing away much of their work, 2) living among scattered papers, or 3) stacking file cabinets about their house. Living in the present age, I am not forced to choose between these options. The internet has provided a digital solution. This website serves as both a storage place and a exposé for pieces that I have written and made. Please enjoy my writing, photography, and artistic creations. Below you can find some characteristic pictures of me, the author.
